I'm Cynthia 49 years old and a mother of 3 children. I have been a fanatic of African Violet plants. In fact i have been propagating African Violet from year 1993 to 2003.I then stopped caring for these awesome plants because nobody would take care of my plants when i am away from home. My obsession grow back when i came to learn using the internet.I was so amazed seeing all beautiful pictures about these small plants that captured my heart. Small, petite, beautiful colors, variegated leaves makes me happy. A day on the net or on cellphone browsing these amazing plants makes my day complete.

I came across an African Violet with seeds...


 Last November 2011 I happen to see one of my African Violets having a seed pods.. I counted them and i got 30 pods all in all...I waited the seeds to mature and when i saw it begin to wilt i pull it off from the mother plan and hang it dry in the air... having thought that i can propagate through these seeds









 December 6, 2011 i sow the seeds i got from my own plant and see i have germinated all of them...




These seedling will be 3 months old this coming March 6, 2012...I have transplanted 100 more or less seedlings from the seed i have germinated that came from my own plant.. As of now i am so excited what will be the color of the flower from these seedlings of mine..Ill keep you posted  of these new plants of mine.

    Hi Cynthia,
    What kind of soil did you use? I have a leaf that I dipped in water for 2 months and now has a baby plant. I need to plant it soon but i can not find suitable soil for it.
